Translations of The Tale of Kieu, researches on Nguyen Du and The Tale of Kieu in foreign languages

The Tale of Kieu not only has a major impact on Vietnamese society but also has a great influence on world literature. According to researchers, The Tale of Kieu has been translated into more than 30 different global languages, with more than 60 different translations. Despite its relative incompleteness, the Nguyen Du Memorial Site has collected many valuable translations of The Tale of Kieu such as translations in English, French, Polish, Hungarian, German, Russian, etc.
In addition to reading and translating, The Tale of Kieu is also a rich topic for researchers and students to choose as a topic for their graduation thesis. At present, in Vietnamese universities, there have been thousands of undergraduate theses and hundreds of master’s and doctoral theses that have chosen Nguyen Du's masterwork as their topic. Notably, in 1981, at Harvard University in the United States, a graduate student chose the Tale of Kieu as his doctoral thesis.
